12 September 2026, Tabu will take place, a festival in a meadow in
Eben-Emael also known as De Wei. As a collective, a group of visual
artists and others will create a festival in the strict sense of the word: a
moment where norms and rules can be loosened and changed. Tabu
presupposes that there is something as bodily knowledge in which our
thinking or judgment plays no role. This way, new symbolisms may be
created. And the meadow, with its own autonomous body of space,
acts as a place where a new infrastructure of meaning can emerge.
What does that mean? Come and experience that yourself! In a form
of play, you are invited to join the experience and participate in your
own way, engage with art works and make room for the unforeseen.
